How to Play Roulette
A complete guide for beginners and experienced players alike.
The Roulette Wheel
The roulette wheel is the centerpiece of the game. It contains numbered pockets where a small ball lands after each spin, determining the winning number. The numbers alternate between red and black, with one or more green zero pockets depending on the variant you play.
In European roulette, the wheel has 37 pockets numbered 0 through 36. This is the most player-friendly version with a house edge of just 2.7%.
American roulette adds a double zero (00) pocket, bringing the total to 38 pockets and increasing the house edge to 5.26%.
Triple Zero roulette is the newest variant, adding a third zero pocket (000) for 39 total pockets and a 7.69% house edge. Big Spin Fun lets you play all three variants.
The Table Layout
The roulette table is where you place your bets. Numbers 1 through 36 are arranged in a grid of 3 columns and 12 rows. The zero pockets sit to the left of the grid. Outside betting areas surround the main number grid, offering bets on larger groups of numbers.
On Big Spin Fun, you click directly on numbers for straight-up bets, and hover between cells to reveal split, street, and corner betting positions. The table adapts automatically when you switch between European, American, and Triple Zero variants.
How a Round Works
Each round of roulette follows the same simple flow. First, you select your chip size — Big Spin Fun offers denominations from $5 to $500. Then you place one or more bets on the table by clicking the positions you want. Your total wager is displayed before you spin.
When you hit the Spin button, the wheel spins and a number is randomly selected. If any of your bets cover the winning number, you receive a payout based on the bet type. Your winnings are added to your balance automatically.
After each spin, you can place new bets or use the Rebet feature to quickly repeat your previous wager at 1×, 2×, 3×, or 4× the original amount.
Inside Bets
Inside bets are placed on specific numbers or small groups of adjacent numbers on the table grid. They offer higher payouts but lower odds of winning.
A straight-up bet covers a single number and pays 35:1. A split bet covers two adjacent numbers and pays 17:1. A street bet covers three numbers in a row and pays 11:1. A corner bet covers four numbers that share a corner and pays 8:1. A double street covers six numbers across two rows and pays 5:1.
Outside Bets
Outside bets cover larger groups of numbers and offer more frequent wins at lower payouts.
Red or Black bets cover all 18 numbers of that color and pay 1:1. Odd or Even and High (19-36) or Low (1-18) work the same way. Dozens cover 12 numbers at a time (1-12, 13-24, or 25-36) and pay 2:1. Column bets also cover 12 numbers and pay 2:1.
